Ms. Wingate received her B.S. in Nursing from George Mason University in 1995, followed by an M.S. in Nursing as an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner from Duke University in 2002. Ms. Wingate has 17 years experience as a Registered Nurse in hospitals and private practice with special interest in oncology, geriatrics and autoimmune disease. She has worked 12 years in Adult/Geriatric Primary Care.
Practice Manager: Heather Wingate
Heather lives in Carolina Beach with her daughter, Jayden Marie. Always ready with a helping spirit, Heather is your go-to person at Patient Centered Care. Heather opened the doors at PCC in October 2007 and has been instrumental in growing the Practice through prompt customer service, attention to detail and warm inviting attitude. Frequently found desk-side, Jayden is a 6th grader at Myrtle Grove Christian School. When not at the office, they can be found enjoying the outdoors with their four-legged family member, Sammie.
Administrative Assistant: Dana Murphy
Dana comes to PCC from Wallace, NC. She graduated Rose-Hill High School in 2008 and attended James Sprunt Community College for Office Administration and recently moved to Wilmington. Dana enjoys outdoor activities including biking, the beach, and boating. Dana is always ready to accommodate your needs, via the telephone or front desk, providing prompt customer service and answers to your questions.
Clinical Staff: Chris Rasmussen
Chris grew up in Rome, NY. She received her Associate Degree from Saint Joseph’s School of Nursing, in Syracuse, NY. Chris and her family relocated to Wilmington in 2006. Chris and her husband are the parents of two daughters, Emily a Junior at Hoggard High School and Bethany a 6th grader at Roland Grise. Her hobbies include reading, cooking and traveling.
Clinical Staff: Paula Parnell
Mrs. Parnell received her B.S. in nursing from Charleston Southern University in 1999 followed by an M.S. in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP), from the Medical University of South Carolina, in 2005. Paula has 13 years experience as a Registered Nurse in hospital units and as a triage nurse. Since earning her FNP, she worked 4 years in primary/family care before splitting her practice time between emergency medicine and general/vascular surgery. Paula’s interest is children with special needs. Paula and her husband are proud parents of two daughters and two sons, age 5 months to 7 years.
