Ms. Wingate received her B.S. in Nursing from George Mason University in 1995, followed by an M.S. in Nursing as an Adult and Geriatric Nurse Practitioner from Duke University in 2002. Ms. Wingate has 19 years experience as a Registered Nurse in hospitals and private practice with special interest in oncology, geriatrics and autoimmune disease. She has worked 12 years in Adult/Geriatric Primary Care.
Practice Manager: Heather Wingate
Heather lives in Carolina Beach with her daughter, Jayden Marie. Always ready with a helping spirit, Heather is your go-to person at Patient Centered Care. Heather opened the doors at PCC in October 2007 and has been instrumental in growing the Practice through prompt customer service, attention to detail and warm inviting attitude. Frequently found desk-side, Jayden is an 8th grader at Myrtle Grove Christian School. When not at the office, they can be found enjoying the outdoors with their four-legged family member, Sammie.
Nursing Supervisor: Chris Rasmussen
Chris grew up in Rome, NY. She received her Associate Degree from Saint Joseph's School of Nursing, in Syracuse, NY. Chris and her family relocated to Wilmington in 2006. Chris and her husband are the parents of two daughters, Emily, a Freshman at Meredith College and Bethany an 8th grader at Roland Grise. Her hobbies include reading, cooking and traveling.
Nurse Practitioner: Tammy Arms
Tammy Arms began her career as a Certified Nurse Assistant while in high school. She then attended Eastern Kentucky University where she obtained her ADN as a RN in 1997. She completed her BSN at University of North Carolina Greensboro and went on to obtain her MSN with Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner concentration. She then attended University of Tennessee Health Science Center to achieve her DNP with a Psyche/Mental Health concentration. She is board certified as an Adult, Geriatric and Family Psyche/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. Tammy is married to Oliver, a retired Marine and mother to 14 yr old Devlin. They have 4 dogs and enjoy spending time outdoors as a family.
Medical Assistant: Julie Smith
Julie is a native of Wilmington. Julie and her 3 year old daughter (Ava) love the outdoors, especially the beach and pool; or just taking walks around the neighborhood with their dog (Kali). With a passion for helping others, Julie completed AD in Applied Science in July 2014. Julie is always ready to accommodate your needs, providing prompt customer service and answers to your questions.
Elizabeth is a rising senior at UNCW in the nursing program and working with us part time. From Charlotte, NC, her interests are running, going to the beach or any outside activity.
Allison is working Part-time as she completes the nursing program at UNCW. From Concord, NC, Allison enjoys playing soccer, going to the beach and hanging out with friends.
